# Aerodrome (DEX Liquidity)

This page offers a breakdown of the upgrades we made to the $MCADE pair on the 2nd August 2025.

### Upgrades

1. Combined Uniswap and Aerodrome Liquidity into one pool.
2. We chose Aerodrome for the reasons laid out below.
3. There is no longer a Uniswap pool, so please don't trade there.
4. We have re-paired $MCADE with WETH and removed USDC
5. We maintain historical CMC, Coingecko, and TradingView Spot charts, but will build new DexScreener & DEXTools charts because the changes have created a new contract pair.

### Why Aerodrome and not Uniswap?&#x20;

The metrics are below for all to see but on top of this it is important to state that our 'North Star' as a business has always been to be the best on base. The Base App presents a unique opportunity for to be in a first to market situation with 8 Million+ Monthly Users waiting to experience Metacade for the first time. \
\
It was announced on the 1st August by Brian Armstrong on a 'Earnings Call' that DEX trading would be made active in the Base App as early as the week commencing 4th August 2025. Aerodrome will be the primary liquidity provider to the Base App with consumers not even knowing where the liquidity is coming from when trading and engaging with $MCADE. \
\
This is why we made the move and committed our capital to this strategy for the clear benefit of the holders and the business.

### Why only have one liquidity pool?

**Deeper Liquidity and Reduced Slippage:**

* A single pool concentrates liquidity, increasing total value locked (TVL). This depth reduces price impact for trades.
* Impact on Sell Pressure: Lower slippage for large sell orders directly supporting the goal of absorbing sell pressure. <br>

**Improved Price Stability:**

* A deeper pool buffers price movements during large trades. Split pools dilute this stability.
* Impact on Sell Pressure: Stabilizes prices against sell-offs, preventing sharp drops (e.g., no “big red candle” unless sell pressure is extreme).&#x20;

**Higher Trading Volume and Fee Revenue:**

* Consolidating into Aerodrome (9.02B–$16.5B monthly volume, 57–80% of Base’s DEX volume) attracts more traders due to lower slippage and fees (0.25% vs. Uniswap’s 0.3%). Higher volume increases LP fee revenue (0.25% per swap).
* Impact on Sell Pressure: High volume ensures efficient trade execution, absorbing sell orders without significant price impact.<br>

**Enhanced Incentive Efficiency:**

* Aerodrome’s ve(3,3) model provides AERO emissions (224.88% APR) to staked LPs and 100% of protocol fees (0.02%) to veAERO holders. Consolidating liquidity maximizes exposure to these incentives, unlike Uniswap, which offers only fees (0.3%) without emissions.
* Impact on Sell Pressure: Voting with veAERO directs emissions to our pool, attracting more LPs and deepening liquidity, further reducing slippage.

**Centralized Market Presence:**

* Aerodrome dominates Base (35–50% of $2.7B TVL, 57–80% volume), making it the liquidity hub. Consolidating into vAMM-USDC/WETH strengthens your project’s presence in Base’s leading DEX.
* Impact on Sell Pressure: Traders prefer Aerodrome’s deep pools, ensuring sell orders are absorbed efficiently.

1. Deeper Liquidity Reduces Slippage

# Aerodrome Incentives Explained

Let’s break down what happens when Metacade adds incentives (aka "bribes") to a liquidity pool on Aerodrome. I’ll keep it clear and simple for everyone to understand.

### **What Are Metacade’s Incentives?**

* Metacade wants more liquidity in their token’s pool (e.g., MCADE/WETH) to make trading smoother and cheaper.
* To encourage this, they offer extra $MCADE tokens as incentives, which are deposited into Aerodrome’s system.

### Where Do the Incentives Go?

* The $MCADE incentives don’t go directly to liquidity providers (LPs). Instead, they go to veAERO holders (people who lock up $AERO tokens to gain voting power).
* Why? veAERO holders vote weekly on which pools receive the most $AERO emissions (Aerodrome’s base rewards). Metacade bribes these voters to direct votes toward their pool.

### How Does This Affect Staked LPs (Who Earn $AERO)?

* Indirectly boosts your rewards: More votes for the MCADE pool = more $AERO emissions allocated to it.
* If you’re an LP staked in the MCADE pool (via the gauge), you earn:
* Your usual share of trading fees from swaps in the pool.
* Higher $AERO emissions (the "extra" from votes).
* Result? Higher APR for you without Metacade paying you directly. It’s like Metacade pays voters to "unlock" more Aerodrome rewards for the pool—everyone benefits when liquidity grows!
* Bonus: Pools with big incentives like $MCADE often see a TVL spike, making them more stable for LPs.

### Quick Example

* Metacade bribes veAERO voters with 10,000 $MCADE tokens.
* Voters choose the MCADE pool → It gets 20% more $AERO emissions that week.
* You (staked LP) now earn \~20% extra $AERO on top of fees. Voters get the $MCADE tokens as their reward.

This ve(3,3) system keeps things sustainable—Aerodrome’s $AERO emissions are limited, so $MCADE bribes help direct them where they’re needed most.

# Aerodrome APR Explained

Let’s break down how APR (Annual Percentage Rate) is calculated for liquidity providers (LPs) staking in a Metacade ($MCADE) pool on Aerodrome. I’ll keep it clear and simple, focusing on what you need

### What is APR?

APR represents the yearly return you earn as an LP, expressed as a percentage of your staked assets. For a Metacade pool (e.g., MCADE/USDC), it comes from two main sources:

1. Trading fees from swaps in the pool.
2. $AERO emissions (Aerodrome’s reward tokens) allocated to the pool.

### How is APR Calculated?

Here’s the basic formula for APR:

```*
APR = [(Annualized Trading Fees + Annualized $AERO Rewards) ÷ Total Value Locked (TVL) in the Pool] × 100
```

Let’s break it down step-by-step:

1. Trading Fees:
   * Every swap in the MCADE/USDC pool generates fees (e.g., 0.3% per trade, typical for AMMs like Aerodrome).
   * These fees are split among LPs based on their share of the pool’s total liquidity.
   * To annualize: Take the daily or weekly fee revenue, multiply by 365 (days) or 52 (weeks), and divide by the pool’s TVL.
   * Example: If the pool earns $1,000 in fees weekly and has $100,000 TVL, the fee APR is:

     ```
     ($1,000 × 52) ÷ $100,000 = 0.52 or 52% APR from fees.
     ```
2. $AERO Emissions:
   * Aerodrome distributes $AERO tokens to pools based on votes from veAERO holders. Metacade’s $MCADE bribes boost votes, increasing $AERO rewards for the pool.
   * The value of $AERO rewards depends on the token’s market price and the emission rate for the pool.
   * To annualize: Multiply the weekly $AERO rewards (in USD) by 52, then divide by the pool’s TVL.
   * Example: If the pool gets $500 in $AERO weekly and TVL is $100,000:

     ```
     ($500 × 52) ÷ $100,000 = 0.26 or 26% APR from $AERO.
     ```
3. Total APR:
   * Add the fee APR and $AERO APR together.
   * Example: 52% (fees) + 26% ($AERO) = 78% total APR.

Why Does APR Change?

* Trading volume: More trades = higher fees = higher APR.
* $AERO emissions: More veAERO votes (thanks to $MCADE bribes) = more $AERO rewards = higher APR.
* TVL: If more people stake in the pool, TVL grows, which can dilute APR unless fees or emissions grow too.
* $AERO price: If $AERO’s market price rises or falls, it affects the USD value of your rewards.

When Metacade adds $MCADE incentives, it encourages veAERO voters to direct more $AERO emissions to the MCADE pool. This boosts the $AERO portion of your APR, making the pool more attractive. For example, if Metacade bribes voters with 10,000 $MCADE, the pool might get 20% more $AERO emissions, increasing your APR significantly.

* APR is an estimate and assumes no compounding (unlike APY, which includes reinvesting rewards).
* Check Aerodrome’s dashboard or analytics (e.g., on their site or tools like DefiLlama) for real-time APRs.
* Risks like impermanent loss can affect your actual returns—APR doesn’t account for that.

2. **Add New $MCADE Token Addres**s - You can add the new token address to your wallet so you can see the new tokens arrive once you bridge successfully.
3. **The Super Bridge Opened** - You can then send your current $MCADE on Ethereum to Base via <https://superbridge.app/> *(check official migration links)* and receive a 1:1 ratio for your tokens into the same wallet. You will need ETH for gas fees to make this transaction and this will be the only method of migration.&#x20;

## What do you need to do?

1. Add Base network to your Metamask or Trust Wallet.
2. Ensure you have ETH in your wallet before the migration goes live to pay for gas fees.

How to migrate MCADE tokens to Base:

1\. If your tokens are still on the Ethereum network, make sure you have ETH in the wallet your tokens are in. It is recommended to have at least $50 in ETH, which may be more or less depending on network congestion.

2\. To avoid problems in the process, use Superbridge ([https://superbridge.app](https://superbridge.app/)) to bridge your MCADE tokens. We recommend that you follow the step-by-step instructions presented in:

NOTE:
